"Myofascial pain and the Endodontic Connection"

Myofascial pain often mimics pain of odontogenic origin.  Differentiating between the two can be difficult. Often times, these two types of pain occur in tandem. The ability to diagnose and treat acute myofacial pain will prevent needless endodontic procedures and reduce the frequency of post-operative
complications. This presentation will give a brief etiology of myofascial pain, diagnostic cues, and treatment considerations.

Attendees will learn:

1. What myofascial pain is.
2. How myofascial pain presents.
3. How to diagnose myofascial pain.
4. How to relieve the acute phase of myofascial pain.
5. How to differentiate between myofascial and endodontic pain.
